When - August 25th, 2018
The PBR5K - Cleveland Basics:
The Parker Lee Foundation is leaving Columbus for the first time and taking our talents to Cleveland in August. All of the great fun you've had in the last 10 years drinking PBRs with PLF is coming to the West Park Station on Saturday, August 25th from 12:00 - 6:00 pm.
What's the PBR5K - Cleveland All About?
Five thousands cans of ice cold PBR, food, souvenir event t-shirt, and live music from Reality Check are included with price of admission ($40 for General Admission and $80 for VIP). Only 600 tickets are available for this historic event.
Proceeds from PLF's first ever trip to Cleveland will benefit local organization Mission4Maureen. Check them out.
The "Last Beer" Auction
And as with all of our PBR events, some enterprising attendee will get the chance to bid and win the right to drink the "last beer". The traditional Last Beer Auction goes down at 5:30 p.m. The 5,000th beer at the PBR5K in Columbus sold for $850 and the 10,000 beer in February sold for $1,750.
Sponsorships are the key to our giving.
With each PBR event, we try and cover our expenses through sponsor contributions and various donations. As a sponsor, your logo will appear on the Parker Lee Foundation website, on social media and on the event t-shirts. You will also receive VIP tickets to the event based on your level of sponsorship. If you have an interest in being a sponsor, please contact us.
History of our Event
As a freshman at Ohio State during the 1985/86 school year I lived in Lincoln Tower on the 18th floor. It was a long, cold walk to Papa Joes in the dead of winter so our pals in Suite 1820 one February night decided to host the Old Mill 500. Mayhem ensued and the party was an absolute blast. Through the post college years, I always thought this would be fun to try as an adult.
After years of idle suggestions to the wife that we need to host a "500," it finally happened on February 29, 2008. A bonus day on the calendar, and a Friday, so let's drink 500 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon. At 3:00 pm at Gallos Tap Room I drank the first can of PBR unaware of the craziness that would follow.
To date, nearly 7,000 of you have drank over 65,000 cans of PBR to raise approximately $150,000 for Central Ohio youth charities. One crazy memory from Lincoln Tower that keeps on giving.
