Another chapter in the legend which is the Chili Bowl took place on November 25th in front of a record crowd of more than 150 attendees at Grandview Theater. The gathering witnessed many firsts: a new Chili Bowl champion crowned as CJ Jacobsen's Brisky Business took home this year's title; a record 27 chili chefs entered their chilis and the craziest thing of all, a Browns win.
Jammi Lepley's (Chili Bowl II and V champion) Smoke Two In the Afternoon finished second and Todd Baumann's Just The Tip and Brandy Goldberg's We Like It Thick tied for third.
The accompanying Green Egg/Traeger Grill raffle in our second year proved to be a success again this year. Tracey Zink won the Green Egg donated courtesy of Aspen Fireplace and Chip Smith won the Traeger Grill donated by Tito's Vodka.
As a result of the events of the day, $4,500 will be donated to the Parker Lee Foundation's Eric J Yavitch Scholarship Fund. This funds awards for chosen Directions For Youth & Families high school seniors $500 a year towards their post-high school schooling.
